We live in a crazy and confusing world, a stressful and overly complicated place. I choose to comment on different social issues of the 21st century, the 21st century is great; we have so much available to this generation, yet in the words of Louis C.K “ Everything is amazing right now, and nobody is happy.” We live in an age of information and technology, yet there are so many individuals that choose to ignore the knowledge and proceed to bring death, pain, and heartache upon themselves voluntarily.
As artists, I believe we have a job that carries the most responsibility, more than any other in the world. We are responsible for recording history, for viewers hundreds of years in the future. Yes we can read in a history book the events that took place on certain dates and times, but it is the artist that depicts the culture and emotion of those times. I have the responsibility to create true and honest works of art that reflects the world around me, and the truths of the world I live in.
